About the doctors at RFM!

RFM is a relatively newly established practice in Wagga hosting excellent, local, committed General Practitioners.

At RFM, we embrace a holistic philosophy of "cradle to grave" General Practice care, and the doctors and staff are passionate about all of your health care needs in the years in between. We are home to dedicated, professional clinicians, nurses and administration staff who care about the service that you receive. We work hard to ensure that you receive the very best of healthcare at all times.

RFM is committed to being a training facility and are passionate about training doctors for our future. We have a Registrar in practice with us, and often have medical students too. We firmly believe that this is essential to providing sustainable health care for you for the future and for future generations.

FAQs + Fees

No, RFM is a private billing practice. We do not believe it is possible to provide an excellent service and maintain our staff, for the cost of the Medicare rebate alone.

We do however bulk bill all Childhood Immunisations and INR testing. If you are under financial pressure, please discuss this with your doctor.
For patients who currently attend RFM, you can book online via Hot Doc’s by clicking the Book Now tab on the Website, or you can give us a call on 02 6936 2088 and chat to our friendly staff.   We will be transitioning to bookings through Automed from July 2024.

For all New Patients, please give our staff a call on 02 6936 2088.
At various times, your doctor will order tests for you such as blood tests, swabs, pap smears or X-Rays, as is appropriate to your care.

These results can take a little while to be returned to us. Once the result is available, your doctor will review them and will make an appropriate comment on the computer.  Most of the time, the doctor will send you an electronic message through Automed informing you of your results.  If your doctor wants to see you, you will be able to follow the link to make an appointment online, or alternatively call us and we will make an appointment on your behalf.  Sometimes our staff may also contact you.  In urgent cases, your doctor may ring himself/herself.

As you can imagine, each doctor will order many tests each day, so we rarely get an opportunity to ring patients for normal results. It is important that if you have not heard from us at all, that you ring the surgery to double check that your result is normal, because occasionally results do get missed, or are not returned properly by pathology etc, or perhaps we have been unable to contact you. It is also extremely important for this reason to ensure that your contact details are always up to date on our records.

Your doctor will let you know how long your test results are likely to take to come back.
No cancellation fee applies when your appointment is cancelled in a timely manner. We understand that sometimes life happens and you cannot attend. Simply cancel online through your appointment reminder or give us a call to reschedule.
If however, you do not attend for an appointment on two occasions without cancelling or contacting us, there will be a fee charged. We often have patients on waiting lists who could have made good use of the time, so please contact us if you are not able to attend so that we may offer the time to someone else.
